Our presenter, Liz Codina, is a community investment officer for Peter Kiewit Foundation and leads the foundation’s post-secondary access and success work. Liz manages a $35M grant portfolio of special initiatives and scholarship, program, and capital investments across Nebraska.

Liz self-identifies as a dedicated public servant and focuses her work on student success, creating access to opportunity, growing Nebraska’s talent pipeline, and supporting disinvested communities. She is also passionate about leadership and professional development initiatives for women, BIPOC communities, and young professionals.

Liz is a Public Servant of the Year awardee (Metro Young Latino Professionals Association, 2022), a 30 Under 30 recipient (Hispanic Executive’s NextGen Collective, 2021), Líderes Fellow (Hispanics in Philanthropy, 2019), a Ten Outstanding Young Omahan (Omaha Jaycees, 2019), and a graduate of Nonprofit Executive Institute (Nonprofit Association of the Midlands, 2019). Codina is a board member for Nonprofit Association of the Midlands (NAM) and serves on the advisory boards for the UNO Chancellor’s Hispanic Cabinet and the UNL Clifton Strengths Institute.  She volunteers as a mentor for NAM’s Rising Leaders Institute (RLI).
